Ronald F. Brot Receives LACBA Family Law Section’s Highest Honor: The Spencer Brandeis Award
Recognized for his extraordinary impact upon the advancement of family law through creative advocacy and commitment to the legal community, Founder and Senior Partner, Ronald F. Brot, has been bestowed the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) Family Law Section’s highest honor, The Spencer Brandeis Award. As reported by LACBA, “He is dedicated to improving the quality of family law legal services, particularly in the courtroom, and was an early leader in the effort to provide practical training in litigation skills and trial advocacy to the Los Angeles County family law bar.”Brot currently serves as the 2019-2020 LACBA President and was the first Chair of the Family Law Section to be elected President in its 141-year history.

Yamamoto, chair of LACBA’s Family Law Section, commented: “During his many years as a member of the Family Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and his eventual rise to chair of the section and now LACBA president, Mr. Brot has diligently dedicated himself, as a leader, in making changes for the advancement of the family law bar and bench. He has made information regarding LACBA more accessible to its members. His positive leadership and creative ideas are being put into place now to increase membership by encouraging LACBA to adapt and change to accommodate membership needs in light of the ever-changing practice of law.”
For more than 35 years, Brot has successfully represented high-profile and high-net-worth individuals in complex and high-conflict cases from inception through settlement or trial involving all aspects of family law, including child custody, relocation, domestic violence, support, property, complex financial and paternity issues. He co-founded Brot& Gross with Senior Partner Mark P. Gross in 2005, and later added Gary Fishbein in 2019, combining their decades of experience and expertise to launch their own family law practice that is known today for tenacious courtroom advocacy and skilled negotiations throughout Southern California.
